Best ACT RNA Club presentation of 2020 (graduate and undergraduate students)
We are pleased to announce that in 2020 The ACT RNA Club will be commencing a competition for presenting research.
If you are an Undergraduate, Postgraduate or a PhD student affiliated with any Australian institution at the time of delivering the talk, you are eligible to participate.
The requirements include presenting an original RNA-involved research, which needs to be shaped into a story-focused presentation. Progress report-style talks are discouraged.
Presentations will take form of a regular ACT RNA Club talk, with duration between 15 and 25 minutes.
For the duration of the travel restrictions and social distancing in effect across Australia, the talks will be delivered via Zoom platform. Upon lifting the restrictions, both, talks delivered in person as well Zoom-based presentations will be accepted.
Winners will be identified by a selection committee that will score the quality and impact of the research as well as the quality of the presentation delivery.
Up to 3 winners will receive the title of ‘Best ACT RNA Club talk of 2020’, a corresponding award certificate and prize money.
To participate, please send a notification of interest mentioning your current host laboratory, talk title and abstract to compete@theactrna.club
Prizes for group leaders and supervisors
In conjunction with the student awards, The ACT RNA Club is pleased to announce prizes for group leaders and supervisors in 2020.
If you are able to inspire a student for a competitive ACT RNA Club talk, you will be mentioned as the host laboratory group leader or supervisor.
You will receive not only our gift pen (which is also possible by delivering a talk at The ACT RNA Club), but also a choice of The ACT RAN Club mug or T-shirt.
